Love a solid dad joke. Nick and Joe Jonas jokingly teased their older brother and dad of two Kevin Jonas on the 2019 Billboard Music Awards red carpet in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1.
While chatting with E!’s Jason Kennedy and On Air With Ryan Seacrest’s very own Tanya Rad, the Jonas Brothers reflected on reuniting for their highly anticipated forthcoming new album Happiness Begins and Kevin, 31, admitted it’s “been a minute” since he’s attended an awards show.
“So, I’ll be honest, this is really awesome and dope,” Kevin said while surveying the carpet ahead of their performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
“[Nick and I] had to, like, show him the ropes,” the “Cake By the Ocean” crooner, 29, joked. “We’re, like, it’s going to be crazy. People are going to be pulling you in different directions, don’t worry.”
As fans are well aware, Nick and Joe have been in the spotlight since the Jonas Brothers first called it quits in 2013 with their respective solo careers. Kevin, for his part, has been busy being a father to daughters Alena, 5, and Valentina, 2, with wife Danielle Jonas.
The eldest JoBro previously admitted during an interview with Ryan Seacrest on On Air With Ryan Seacrest that it’s tough to be away from his family, but he feels the time is right for all three brothers to reunite.
“We started the discussions first of all about making a documentary,” Nick explained to Ryan at the time. “And then it evolved into spending so much time together and working together again and saying we really want to give this another shot and we feel like we’re at this place in our lives as a family where we could actually do it and it would be healthy.”
The Jonas Brothers have since announced a 40-date North American tour that will accompany their album, marking their first tour together in nearly a decade.
