Kelly Clarkson is sharing the relatable reason she hasn't gotten back into the dating scene since her divorce.

During her Studio Sessions residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Sunday (July 20), the "Breakaway" singer got candid with the audience about the possibility of dating again since splitting from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock five years ago, per Page Six.

"Dating can be very difficult, which is why I don't," she said, causing the crowd to laugh. She also noted that dating becomes a "dumpster fire" when you "add a spotlight" because of her fame, noting that dating is already "hard" enough for everyone else.

Clarkson and Blackstock were married for seven years before she filed for divorce in 2020. The former couple, who share 11-year-old daughter River Rose and 9-year-old son Remington Alexander, settled their divorce two years later.

She previously explained in 2023 that she wasn't interested in jumping into a new relationship or looking for love as she had "a lot going on," from being a mom to her kids and several pets as well as juggling "multiple jobs." Even her children have given their two cents on the possibility of their mom dating again, and they had some strong opinions.
