Meghan Trainor Shares Powerful Message To Haters: 'Still Don't Care'

Meghan Trainor is blocking out the haters in her latest song.

Trainor is back with another banger to boost your self-confidence thanks to her new single "Still Don't Care," a track about ignoring hateful comments and living your best, most authentic life. The song, which came out on Wednesday (November 12), is the lead single to her upcoming new album Toy with Me, out April 24.

"You could say what you want, say I'm so hard to like/ You could tear me apart, but I sleep well at night/ Say I'm doin' too much, and you're probably right/ That's the same s--- I've heard my whole life," she sang, later adding, "I'm too cool to cry, I'm too hot to stress/ And I don't know your name, but you're fully obsessed/ To be honest, I get it, I'm impressed by me too/ So I'm too confident, yeah, it's probably true."

She also dropped a music video for the track on Friday (November 14), strutting around the streets of Los Angeles in a purple body suit and platform heels and mingling with onlookers as she shows just how much she doesn't care what the haters have to say.

Speaking with People, Trainor shared that "Still Don't Care" is her way of reclaiming her power after receiving rude comments on social media, especially since losing weight. She explained how her social media page is typically very friendly and a "mom-loving place" but it "took a dark turn" when some commenters began to spread negativity and make negative remarks about her body.

"People started commenting about my body, saying I'm too thin, and that they don't recognize me anymore. And I was like, 'Oh, I've just been focusing so hard on my health and my fitness that I've never felt better.' So, I was confused and sad and was like, 'Oh, it's almost worse now.' I don't know what happened."

After feeling more secure after speaking about it in therapy and realizing she didn't want strangers online to have "power" over her, she decided to write a song reflective of her new outlook.

"I liked the idea of... 'Let me think about it one more time. Nope, I still don't care,'" she said. "And I know that when I start singing it, it'll be my therapy, my exposure therapy."
