Poot Lovato is alive and well after Demi Lovato let them out just in time for Halloween.

Months after joking that she was "never" letting Poot out in public again, the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer transformed into the infamous meme to celebrate Halloween. In case you're unfamiliar, Poot is Lovato's "twin" that fans created in 2015 following a hilariously edited photo of the singer went viral.

On Thursday (October 30), Lovato shared a post on Instagram of her letting "pootvato" finally run free. In one photo, Lovato embodied the character, light washing her out as she smiled for the camera next to a photo with the iconic first sighting of Poot. They also shared a time-lapse video of her hair and makeup session that transformed them from the stunning artist we all know into the iconic Poot, complete with exaggerated receding hairline and extra pale makeup.

"happy halloween and happy one week of intd!!" she wrote, referencing her new album It's Not That Deep. "been so locked in this era thought i'd let pootvato out ๐Ÿ”’๐Ÿค"

However, another clip raised questions that Poot was actually allowed outside, as they were seen sneaking through a garage and struggling to open the door while screaming for help. (#FreePoot)

The Halloween costume was a hit with followers, who flocked to the comments to shared their love.

"Nothing short of f------ brilliance. You stay holding the Halloween crown," one user wrote, while another joked, "i am SCREAMING DEMI." More commenters were excited to see the return of Poot, such as fans who said, "Welcome back poot we missed you" and "they've been in the basement so long :("

Even Lovato's new husband Jordan "Jutes" Lutes joined in on the fun, writing, "Alright Halloween is over everyone. Pack it up. It belongs to demi this year better luck next year."
